The Company’s Game Plan

NANOSCAN IMAGING was founded in 2005 to manage the clinical development of N1177.  This water insoluble, iodinated nanoparticle contrast agent is expected to improve the clinical utility of computed tomography (CT) in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular disease and cancer.  N1177-enhanced CT will offer patients a less invasive and more cost-effective imaging alternative to catheter-based procedures, such as angiography.

N1177 has unique properties that make it a versatile agent with a range of applications including:

Intravenous:       N1177-iv -  atherosclerosis and identification of vulnerable plaque

Pulmonary:         N1177-inh -  lung cancer staging

Subcutaneous:   N1177-sq -  cancerous extension into lymph nodes

While all three applications are medically and commercially important, NSI Management will, in order to focus its own resources, concentrate on the cardiovascular application as it represents the largest unmet medical need, the most significant market opportunity and a more favorable regulatory environment.  NSI’s primary funding and development activities will be focused on the systemic detection and characterization of atherosclerosis.

Accordingly, NSI will execute the following business plan:

Continue to perform exploratory studies in various animal models.

Enter into a strategic corporate alliance to complete the nonclinical and clinical development of N1177-iv through Phase 1 / Phase 2 (proof of concept).

Develop a regulatory strategy that will serve as a blueprint for commercial success.

Sell / license the regulatory package and commercialization rights to one or more major pharmaceutical / diagnostic imaging companies.

Regarding the two cancer applications, NSI is actively seeking strategic corporate alliances to help develop the lung cancer staging and subcutaneous applications.
